DAY 4: Let's talk about characters today. Inventing characters is the reason so many writers enjoy (and get away with) people-watching. Like yesterday, paying attention is the main thing here.
If you see someone interesting, whether they are a stranger or someone you know, study them carefully to determine WHY they are interesting. Is it the way they dress? Or their hand gestures when they talk? Do they move like an animal? Do their words say one thing while their body language says another?
Homework: I bet you've guessed already! Take some time to people-watch, and let your imagination go wild. No one else has to know the stories you make up about them!
